LANSING – Ramon Garcia became the second Whitecaps pitcher this week to toss a three-hit shutout as West Michigan defeated Lansing, 2-0. Alfredo Figaro threw a three-hit shutout in a 4-0 win over Quad Cities on Sunday.

COMSTOCK PARK, MI - Wednesday’s game between the West Michigan Whitecaps and Kane County Cougars at Fifth Third Ballpark as been cancelled due to rain and wet field conditions. The game will not be made up because the two clubs will not meet again in the first half of the Midwest League season.

COMSTOCK PARK – For the first time this season, the Whitecaps allowed double digit runs in a 10-3 loss to Kane County. By dropping the first two in a three game series against the Cougars, West Michigan has lost consecutive home games for the first time since August 3 and 4, 2007 when the ‘Caps dropped two straight against Quad Cities.

COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The Whitecaps are getting ready to show off their softer side. In honor of Mother’s Day, the team will don pink jerseys as part of the third annual Sprint Breast Cancer Awareness Day on Sunday, May 11. Fans will be treated to free pink Sprint t-shirts for the first 1,500 people through the gates and will be able to help raise funds by just purchasing a Whitecaps ticket. Fans also have the opportunity to help local women through WLHT’s Movers for Moms.

COMSTOCK PARK, MI — The West Michigan Whitecaps, in conjunction with the Detroit Tigers, announced today that catcher Jordan Newton will head to the D.L. retroactive to May 5. Adrian Casanova is returning to West Michigan from extended spring training for his second stint with the Whitecaps this season.
